Vatican Shines a Light on Solar Panel

It's official, the Pope and the Vatican are going green.

Solar panels, donated by a German company to the German Pope, were installed this past September. According to the project leader, the solar panels will reduce emissions by 200 tons of carbon dioxide and 70 tons of oil. Mamma mia--multo utile!

Now Pope Benedict XVI has other plans for Vatican City to become the first state in the world to become emission free. While the former Pope embraced the Internet and media, this Pope is already earning the nickname as the first "Green Pope".
